NEWS ROUNDUP: Vaccine figures & football banning order
Almost half a million Covid vaccine jabs have already been given out in the city region, new figures show. The latest reports from the NHS show 482,766 doses of the coronavirus vaccine had been administered by February 21, equivalent to nearly a third of the city region's population. The success of the vaccine rollout increases the likelihood that the country will be able to stick to the dates for lockdown ending laid out by the Prime Minister on Monday.
Two Liverpool men have been issued with five year football banning orders following ticket tout offences. Stewart Christopher O'Brien, 46, of Whitehaven Road, Liverpool and John Paul Jennings, 41, of Handfield Street, Liverpool, were both given the bans after being seen on Walton Breck Road on 1st February 2020 selling match tickets without being authorised.
St. Joseph's Hospice is on the lookout for anyone who would like to take on an adrenaline-fueled challenge in the heart of Liverpool this summer. On Saturday 17th July, a team of hospice supporters will abseil 150ft down the great west door of Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral to raise valuable funds for the hospice.
