Mossley Hill, Princes Park and Tuebrook and Stoneycroft have recorded a rise in their coronavirus infections even as the city's infection rate as a whole continues to drop. Liverpool Council's latest coronavirus report shows that in the week up to February 22 the city had an infection rate of 142.2 cases per 100,000 people.
Police leaders in Cheshire are calling on the government to reconsider its decision to not prioritise police officers for the Covid-19 vaccine. It's after the announcement that after over 50s are vaccinated, the roll-out will continue by age group leaving those on the Covid frontline at risk.
The Silver Jubilee Bridge which links Runcorn and Widnes is now open to traffic.
Halton Borough Council has reopened the Silver Jubilee Bridge following completion of a major refurbishment programme. When the Mersey Gateway opened in 2017, the bridge was closed for a major revamp for the first time in its 60 year history.
