UEFA are considering Champions League changes that could see the competition's layout look drastically different from 2024.

A proposal to make the tournament a 'Swiss-style' format would see teams play 10 group games rather than the current six.

Five games would be at home with the other five being away.

There wouldn't be several groups, but rather one Champions League which is the main change to the tournament if the plans go ahead.

It is believed there would be 36 teams within the tournament rather than 32, but all teams would not play each other.

Sceptics say it could mean the end of the League Cup in England and other domestic cup competitions across Europe.

The controversial point of this new tournament is the ability it gives teams who have historic success in UEFA competitions to remain in the tournament despite league performance.

For example, if West Ham United finished in the top four this season, they might miss out but Liverpool would be in the tournament.

This is to keep perceived 'big' teams in the Champions League as more people will watch on television after the changes.

UEFA are believed to be wanting to increase the asking price of their TV rights deals after these Champions League changes.

The vote was set for late March but has now been pushed back to a later date.

We'll see how the vote goes and if the Champions League as we know it changes.
