LOCAL SUCCESS: Liverpool based film ‘Out of time’ wins top international film festival award
Film based in Liverpool that tells a story of Connor who believed he was born in the wrong body wins film festival award and has touched many of it's audience!
Michelle Billington is the driving force behind one of her "hardest challenges yet". The Independent Feature film “Out of Time” went into development in 2016, as part of her plan to create a sustainable Independent Film Industry for unsigned and unrecognised talent.
Over her 30 year career Michelle has seen a distinct gap in the industry and a lack of opportunities for all local communities. Her aim was to close this gap and help support the independent film industry that discovers the talented stars and production crews of the future.
“Out of Time” was written by writer and actress Kerry Williams and great news for both her and Michelle when they saw this great project become reality when the film won a top award at the LGBTQ Un-boarded International Film Festival.
Kerry Williams, started researching transgender issues after watching a short clip on ITV This Morning, when a mum described how her 3 year old son wanted to wear a dress.
The mum-of-four from Norley in Cheshire wondered what she would do if one of her children had felt the same way.
She said she's been overwhelmed by the film's reaction from some transgender families. Some care settings are also saying they will use it as part of their training to help support young people.
Creatives involved in the film are incredibly proud of what they have achieved.
The film is available to watch on Amazon Prime now!
