MEGHAN & HARRY: Meghan Markle reveals suicidal thoughts
"I just didn't want to be alive anymore. And that was very clear and real and frightening."
Speaking to Oprah Winfrey during a tell-all interview, Meghan Markle revealed that she had suicidal thoughts when she was a working royal. We spoke to Liverpool comedian Jake Mills who set up Chasing the Stigma seven years ago following his own suicide attempt.
National mental health charity, Chasing the Stigma is on a mission to normalise mental health and aims to make getting help as easy as possible. Jake set up the charity when talking through his own personal experience he realised that many people didn't know where to turn within their own mental health issues, so Jake and his team created the Hub of Hope – an app to bring together all of the mental health support available to someone in any given area.
During the interview, Meghan revealed that when she was suffering from suicidal thoughts, the palace did not help her when asked.
Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan has also faced criticism after commenting he did not believe Meghan's disclosure that she had suicidal thoughts.
