ECONOMIC RECOVERY: Liverpool’s roadmap out of covid
Liverpool's Chamber of Commerce says the city has a better chance of recovering from covid more quickly than other parts of the UK.
They say flexibility due to the city's size, and its "joined up approach" are some of the reasons why. Their chief executive say Chamber's patrons will help beat the drum for the city region business community as it overcomes the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The Metro Mayor of Liverpool City Region, has given a message of hope for the region's economic recovery. Speaking to 200 cross-sector business and civic leaders at an online event, Steve Rotheram, highlighted the strengths and determination of the Liverpool City Region that will be crucial to driving its economic recovery – from big-ticket schemes like Unilever's National Packaging Innovation Centre, on the Wirral, to the world-leading innovators and socially trading organisations across the City Region.
Liverpool Chamber itself has announced a host of new patrons to its ever growing portfolio, as the company continues to invest in the future of the city region's business economy as its major pledge.
The city has a track record of hosting extraordinary events, something which residents have been missing over the pandemic. Liverpool City Council has announced it's first offering after almost a year of lockdown, an outdoor illuminated art gallery set to take over our world-famous waterfront for fourteen nights from the 23rd of March.
