NEXT STEP: England’s lockdown to ease as planned on 12 April
The prime minister has confirmed the next step of easing lockdown restrictions will go ahead as planned in England. Non-essential shops, gyms and hairdressers will reopen their doors on April 12, with pubs and restaurants being allowed to serve customers outdoors for the first time this year.
