Tribute's have been pouring in following the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh who passed away in Windsor on Friday morning. Acting Mayor, Councillor Wendy Simon, said: "On behalf of the people of Liverpool, we are sending our heartfelt sympathies to Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal family.”
An online Book of Condolence has been opened for tributes For The Duke of Edinburgh following his death. Prince Phillip visited Liverpool many times as consort to the Sovereign, most recently in 2016, when the Royal couple attended the International Festival of Business and opened both the new Exhibition Centre and Alder Hey Hospital.
Liverpool Cathedral has gone into mourning following the announcement from Buckingham Palace of the death of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh. As an act of respect and remembrance, their bells were rang 99 times in his honour.
