Deaths from Covid-19 fell again in the Liverpool City Region during the first full week of April, the tenth successive week to have seen a decline. Six people died of Covid-19 in the city region during the week up to April 9, down from eight in the previous week and less than 1% of the deaths seen at the peak of the third wave in January.
Everton say the six English clubs who plan to join the European Super League have shown disrespect and are "tarnishing the reputation of the league and the game". In a statement the club say they're saddened and disappointed to see proposals of a breakaway league pushed forward by six clubs.
A broken TV, hunting for "fit fellas" and a house "full of smackheads" were just some of the excuses Merseyside residents gave for breaking lockdown last year that landed them in court. While most lockdown breaches were dealt with using on-the-sport fines, 31 people managed to end up in court for breaking the rules.
