Ministers have stepped up calls for people to book their coronavirus vaccination when eligible amid rising concern about the so-called Indian variant.
EU drugs regulator the EMA has said that the Pfizer BioNtech covid vaccine can now be stored at fridge temperature for much longer than previously recommended. Once vaccines had thawed, there are suggestions the jabs could be kept in fridges for up to a month - much longer than the current five day window.
A legally binding target of 2030 to halt the decline of nature and wildlife across the UK has been announced. Environment Secretary George Eustice has outlined plans for a task force on reintroducing the wildcat and returning beavers to new areas.
