Kirkby's town centre revamp is among the beneficiaries of a £150m Covid recovery fund approved by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. It's hoped the investment will help an economy that has been battered by the effects of Covid-19.
A crunch vote on plans to move Birkenhead Market to a temporary site has been delayed after a backlash from traders. The move to St Werburghs Square is set to happen early next year and run for at least three years until a new permanent market is built. With 21 stalls provided inside and 24 outside, many fear this will push long-time stall owners out of the market.
Liverpool City Region Pride Foundation's March Online will return on Saturday 31st July. The virtual march will once again take place on what would have been the day of the city region's Pride celebrations. The organisation's physical Pride celebrations were cancelled earlier in the year, due to the pandemic.
