The first stage of major reforms to Liverpool Council have been backed by councillors. It formally endorses planned reforms that will take place over the next year in response to Max Caller's damning inspection report into the council.
St Helens residents are being encouraged to consider wearing face masks when they can't socially distance to reduce the risks posed by coronavirus in certain situations. The legal requirement to wear face masks in any setting, along with most other Covid-19 rules, was scrapped by the Government on July 19.
Former residents of one of Liverpool's most famous streets are launching a book - People of the Lane: Living in and around Lark Lane, Liverpool, 1880-2020 - includes illustrations and stories from those living around the Lane over 140 years. But author Dr Kay Flavell, who has waited 40 years to tell her stories, has been unable fly in from Paris due to Covid rules.
