The Birkenhead tunnel has reopened. On Monday Merseyrail apologised after a delay in its re-opening. They said the work was much greater than initially envisaged and they needed to make sure it was completed fully without the need to close again in the near future.
Liverpool City Council's first major housing scheme in more than 30 years is to set clear its final hurdle this week. The landmark scheme, at Denford Road in Dovecot, aims to deliver one hundred and five homes. Now a report to the council's Cabinet meeting on Friday is seeking approval for the council to enter into a contract with developer Lovell.
Two Merseyside hospitals are set to receive the freedom of their boroughs in recognition of their efforts during the pandemic. St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Whiston and St Helens Hospitals, has been nominated for the prestigious awards by the leaders of Knowsley and St Helens councils.
