GOOD OMENS: Liverpool face Norwich in Premier League opener

GOOD OMENS: Liverpool face Norwich in Premier League opener

Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool will travel to newly-promoted Norwich City on the opening day of the 2021/22 Premier League campaign.

Carrow Road has been a happy hunting ground for the Reds in previous years as they have won all of their last seven trips to East Anglia.

That includes the remarkable 5-4 win when Adam Lallana's goal sparked joyous celebrations that seen Klopp lose his glasses in a huddle with his players.

In 2019, Liverpool began their Premier League winning campaign at home to Norwich City and won that 4-1.

Reds fans will be hoping for similarly good omens from this fixture schedule.

Chelsea are the first of the big six clubs Liverpool will face at the end of August. Meanwhile, the first match with Manchester United is set for October.

The first Merseyside Derby of the season comes in November as Liverpool travel to Goodison Park, with the reverse fixture pencilled in for late April.

On Boxing Day, Anfield will play host to Liverpool v Leeds United, while Chelsea away is the trip for supporters on New Years' Day.

The Reds will end the season at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
