LINKS: Everton transfer rumours beginning to heat up

Everton are rumoured to have an interest in signing at least four players in the transfer market according to various reports.

The Blues will be under new boss Rafael Benitez at the helm and the Spaniard is reportedly interested in making several additions.

One of the names linked is Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic who missed out on promotion via the playoffs last season.

Swedish stopper Robin Olsen has returned to Roma following the expiration of his loan deal leaving little depth behind England and Everton number one Jordan Pickford.

Begovic would bring competition and cover for the Blues should they require it at any stage this season.

Benitez is also reportedly interested in three wide midfielders ahead of the new Premier League season getting underway.

The Blues are believed to be closing in on deals for former Crystal Palace man Andros Townsend and Bayer Leverkusen's Demarai Gray.

Townsend is a free agent after his contract at Palace expired over the summer and could be a useful addition to the depth of the team.

Theo Walcott has re-joined Southampton after his Everton deal ran out last month, leaving the club short in options outside the first team.

Former Leicester City winger Gray played 12 times for German side Leverkusen last season after joining the club in January.

Gray had initially joined Leicester in 2016 from Birmingham City and has featured 133 times in the Premier League.

He headed to Germany in a deal worth £1.8m and rumours suggest Everton could sign him for a similar fee.

The now 25-year-old scored eight times in 26 appearances for the England U21 team.

Most notably though, are the rumours that Everton are interested in Burnley midfielder Dwight McNeil.

It could cost them around £25m to bring the 21-year-old to Goodison Park and they face stiff competition from Aston Villa for his signature.

Everton are hoping to do business closer to the £20m mark but with three years left on his contract at Burnley, with the option of another year, they may have to go closer to £30m to get their man.

Certainly plenty of transfer movement for Everton, as Rafa Benitez looks to boost his options ahead of his first season in charge.#
