UNBEATEN: 33 games without defeat – can Italy be beaten?
It took penalties to separate them but Italy advanced to the EURO 2020 final with a win over Spain stretching their unbeaten run to 33.
Jorginho scored the winning spot-kick to send Roberto Mancini's side to the final for the 10th time in major tournaments.
Alvaro Morata missed from 12 yards prior to the winner and Dani Olmo also missed earlier in the shootout for the Spaniards.
Italy are now 33 games unbeaten and have shown their quality in EURO 2020 so far.
Mancini's ability to be flexible tactically has allowed them to win games by any means necessary.
The Italians can soak up pressure and counter as shown with Federico Chiesa's goal on Tuesday night.
It took around 13 seconds from goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma rolling the ball out to Chiesa curling in the opener.
However, Italy have shown throughout their unbeaten run - not just at EURO 2020 - that they can win by dominating the game or by going toe-to-toe with their opposition.
It leaves a scary prospect in store for England or Denmark who play on Wednesday night for the right to face Italy in the final.
On the latest EURO Exposition podcast, the gang dissect Italy's chances of winning the tournament.
