WHAT’S ON: 5 things to do in Liverpool for the festive period

Liverpool is vibrant, and festive time - it only gets better! Here’s a few recommendations for things to do in the city.

Get stuck into a virtual Grotto Experience for charity

A Merseyside autism charity has launched two exciting seasonal events to help raise vital funds for the people it supports this Christmas.

Wirral-based Autism Together, is asking people to do something a little different this December by joining its 12 Miles Of Christmas challenge, getting people fit and fundraising in the build up to Christmas 2021.

The charity, which supports over 400 autistic adults at locations across Merseyside, West Cheshire and North Wales, is calling on people of all ages and abilities from across the region to take part in this fun challenge.

Chloe Jones, from Autism Together’s Fundraising Team, said:

“We're asking people to walk, run, bike, swim, or any other exercise they choose, for 1 mile a day across the first 12 days of December.

“You can do this at your own pace and time, and in an environment that suits you.

“By gathering sponsorship from friends and family, colleagues and classmates, you will be raising vital funds for the people we support and doing a little bit of exercise before we over-indulge at Christmas time.”

Everyone that takes part and raises at least £50 will receive a specially made Autism Together snowflake to hang on their Christmas tree, along with a certificate. Find out more here.

They are open from 11am every day and close at 9pm Sunday to Wednesday and 10pm Thursday to Saturday.

There is something for everyone with rides and games stalls for the little ones and the big wheel and snow slide for the more adventurous. We have the cosy tipi bar returning this year along with the ski bar and windmill bar and the new addition of the Bavarian bar where you can try a selection of german beers. Find out more here.
